Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release
Drew Robinson matched a career-high with four hits Monday and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (69-49, 29-20), Class-A Advanced affiliates of the Texas Rangers, rallied to topple the Frederick Keys 6-4 at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick, Maryland.
The Pelicans trailed 3-1 entering the eighth inning, but the Birds rallied for three runs to take the lead. Preston Beck started the burst with a triple and scored on a Jake Skole RBI single. Robinson followed with a go-ahead two-run home run to right field, his sixth of the season.
Cody Kendall (1-1) took the win out of the bullpen for the Pelicans, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings. Miguel Chalas (1-3) gave up three runs in the eighth inning and took the loss despite firing scoreless sixth and seventh innings. Michael Zouzalik allowed a run in the ninth inning but notched his first save.
The Pelicans unleashed a 13-hit offensive performance. In addition to four hits, Robinson knocked in three runs and scored another. Skole went 3-for-4 and scored three runs. Edwin Garcia posted a 2-for-5 performance.
The Pelicans took the early lead in the third inning on an RBI fielder's choice from Trever Adams. The Keys strung together three straight runs including a two-run single from Tucker Nathans in the fourth inning.
