Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release
ESTERO, FL - Ryan Munce made 47 saves, but didn't get any offensive support as the Sea Wolves fell 3-0 to the Florida Everblades at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida on Friday night.
Colin Nicholson gave the Everblades a 1-0 lead when he deflected Matt Auffrey's shot over the right pad of Sea Wolves goalie Ryan Munce at 3:11 of the first period. Kevin Baker grabbed a loose puck along the goal line and bounced it off of Munce and into the net to give Florida a 2-0 lead at 17:57 of the first.
The Everblades took a 3-0 lead in the second period when Mark Lee ripped a wrist shot that found the inside of the post at 6:55 of the second period.
The Sea Wolves threatened on two power plays in the third period, but were unable to find the back of the net and were shut out for the first time in 2008-09.
Ryan Munce made 47 saves, earning the loss, and the Sea Wolves power play was 0-for-4.
The next broadcast of Sea Wolves hockey is tomorrow when the Sea Wolves visit the Florida Everblades at 6:00 CT, and will be heard on the B2 Networks and at www.msseawolves.com. The pre-game show presented by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College will begin 15 minutes before the opening faceoff!
