
All-Star Bowers Gets First Call-Up

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers announced today that rookie forward and ECHL All-Star Justin Bowers has been loaned to the Lake Erie Monsters, the "AAA" affiliate of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche. He is expected to be with the Monsters for their road game against the Hamilton Bulldogs tonight.
The 23-year-old Bowers currently leads the Bombers with 35 points and 24 assists. The Halifax, Nova Scotia, native ranks 10th in the ECHL in scoring and fifth among first-year players. His 24 assists are second best in the rookie standings.
Bowers has had nine multi-point games this season, including a three-point performance in the Bombers last game on January 4. He was recently selected to the 2009 American Conference All-Star roster with teammate Greg Labenski.
Action returns to the Nutter Center on Saturday, January 10 when the Bombers and Wheeling Nailers face off at 7:30 for "Military Appreciation Night". Silver level tickets are 2-for-1 with a military ID at the box office. Special WPAFB-designed jerseys will be worn and auctioned off immediately following the game to benefit the Fisher/Nightingale Houses and Dayton Bombers Foundation.
