Carolina Mudcats (27-31) at Wilmington Blue Rocks (28-30)

NEWS & NOTES:

- About Last Night - A big offensive night from Tony Wolters and a strong outing from Will Roberts allowed the Mudcats to come away with a 5-2 win over the Blue Rocks on Wednesday night. Wolters finished with three hits and three RBI. Roberts earned his third win, holding Wilmington to two runs over six innings. Jose Flores notched his ninth save.

- Mr. Roberts' Neighborhood - For the second time in his last three starts, Will Roberts held his opponent to two runs. By tossing six innings against Wilmington, Roberts earned his second quality start of the year. He struck out a season-high five hitters, without allowing a walk.

- Threes Wild - Infielder Tony Wolters played his hand with his third three-hit game of 2012 Wednesday night. The 19-year-old cracked his third triple of the year. Moreover, Wolters knocked in three runs in a game for the third time this year. He has five hits in his last two games.

- It's Better with Petter - After allowing five runs on May 10 at Myrtle Beach, reliever Kyle Petter has not allowed a run in five outings (9.2 innings). During this time, he has lowered his ERA from 9.75 to 5.25.

- To the Moon, Alice! - Right fielder Carlos Moncrief became the first Mudcat to belt a home run against the Blue Rocks at Frawley Stadium. It was his seventh of the year. Carolina has more round trippers on the road (21) than at Five County Stadium (17). The Muddies boast the third most home runs in the CL with 38.
