Carolina Mudcats News Release
WILMINGTON, DE - The Mudcats' Tyler Cannon and Michael Goodnight shined in a 12-1 thumping of the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Thursday night at Daniel Frawley Stadium.
The Mudcats (28-31) salavaged a split of the series with Wilmington (28-31) thanks to the win.
Michael Goodnight (2-6) snapped a personal six-game losing streak by tossing his first quality start of the year. Goodnight allowed one run, scattered two hits and fanned five batters in six innings of work.
Tyler Cannon finished with three hits, and plated five RBI. He also cracked his first home run of the year, a three-run blast to left in the seventh. The catcher finished a triple shy of the cycle.
Delvi Cid had another great night with four hits, including a triple. The Mudcats cracked four three-baggers in the game. Ronny Rodriguez finished with three hits and a RBI.

Leading 5-1 entering the fifth, Carolina scored three runs on a pair of triples by Anthony Gallas and Justin Toole, sandwiched by a Ronny Rodriguez single. Cannon drove in the third run with a sac-fly to center.
Cannon's blast to left field in the seventh gave the Mudcats an 11-1 advantage. Tony Wolters scored following a triple in the eighth to finish the scoring.
