
Mud Hens To Host Brief Three-Game Homestand

The Mud Hens are returning to Toledo to take on two IL West rivals, the Columbus Clippers and the Louisville Bats. This is the second time the Hens have faced both the Clippers and the Bats at home this season. The Hens start the homestand by facing Columbus for one game on July 4. A two-game series against Louisville on July 5-6 will follow. Columbus is currently in last place in the IL West and Louisville is in third, trailing the Hens by 4.5 games. This homestand will feature three nights of fireworks, three installments of the High School Home Run Derby, an appearance by Rockin' Ray and the Skyy Dogs, and a Thunderstix giveaway.

Wednesday, July 4 (Columbus, 1st pitch @ 7 p.m.) - Celebrate Independence Day at Fifth Third Field! The game includes post-game fireworks. Post-game excitement will also feature an installment of the High School Home Run Derby with representatives from Whiteford (MI) and Sylvania Southview High School. The contest between the Hens and the Clippers can be heard live on Sports Radio 1470 AM - The Ticket and seen live on BCSN.
Thursday, July 5 (Louisville, 1st pitch @ 7 p.m.) - Rockin' Ray & The Skyy Dogs come to Fifth Third Field on this night, which includes another post-game fireworks display. The Skyy Dogs are famous for their incredible disc catching ability, graceful acrobatic skill, and jumping rope tricks. The dogs, Skyy, Starr, Sunny, Flash and Thunder, have performed at venues for collegiate and professional athletic events all across the United States. Also following the ballgame, Scott High School will participate in another installment of the Mud Hens High School Home Run Derby. Friday, July 6 (Louisville, 1st Pitch @ 7 p.m.) - The Mud Hens will play their final home game before the All-Star break, and treat fans to a third consecutive night of post-game fireworks, sponsored by the Pharm. Adding to the post-game fun will be another edition of the High School Home Run Derby, with contestants from Monroe (MI), and Central Catholic High School. The first 5,000 fans to enter Fifth Third Field on Friday will receive a free pair Thunderstix to help cheer on the Hens, courtesy of Verizon Wireless.
