OTTAWA LYNX GAME REPORT

International League Final - Sunday July 1st, 2007 @ Lynx Stadium, Ottawa, Ontario

The Yankees topped the Lynx for the third straight day, handing the Lynx a 11-5 defeat.

The loss drops the Lynx record to 33-47 while Scranton/WB improves to 44-38.

Lynx Players Of The Day: Joe Thurston had two triples, two runs scored and an RBI in the Lynx loss.

Game Recap: The Lynx took an early lead in this holiday Monday matinee when Joe Thurston tripled and scored on Brennan King's RBI single. Scranton came back to tie the game on Shelley Duncan's home run onto Coventry Rd. and the Yanks took the lead with a six-run explosion in the fourth inning. The Lynx scratched their way back into this ballgame with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Carlos Leon led of with a single, moving to second on an error and then taking third on Chris Roberson's groundout. Thurston's second single of the afternoon cashed Leon before Thurston scored again on Brennan King's groundout. Gary Burnham walked and moved to second on Jason Jaramillo's single, before scoring on a Jim Rushford single. The Yankees got those three runs back in the top of the sixth. Ottawa narrowed the gap with a run in the bottom of the sixth when Chris Roberson's groundout scored Pedro Swann. That was as close as the Lynx would get, as Scranton scored once more in the top of the eighth to finish the scoring.

Next Game: The Lynx host the Yankees in the final game of their four-game series Tuesday night at Lynx Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm for 25-Cent Hot Dog Day!
