Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Naturals designated hitter, Parker Morin, popped his second home run of the season in the second inning, a three-run job to give Northwest Arkansas (40-31/0-1) a 3-1 advantage; but the Arkansas Travelers (37-33/1-0) spoiled the part with a 7-4 win on Tuesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Morin's dinger was a towering shot to rightfield with two men on and two men out against Travelers starter Chris Ellis (2-0, 2.12) to begin what looked like was going to be a long night for the right-hander. But the Arkansas starter dug in and went on to 10 of the next 11 batters to hold-off any more Naturals' offense.

Trailing 5-3 headed into the sixth inning, Northwest Arkansas greeted the new reliever Austin Adams with a run to trim the deficit. With one out in the inning, Balbino Fuenmayor banged his first triple of the season off the right-centerfield wall and came home a batter later as Hunter Dozier recorded his 25th RBI of the season on a sacrifice fly to rightfield.

Northwest Arkansas starter Jakob Junis (0-1, 9.00) made his Double-A debut and worked 4.0 innings, allowed five runs - four earned - on seven hits and struck out three with a walk in his first outing in a Naturals uniform. The 22-year old hurler took the loss for Northwest Arkansas.

Junis was followed up by his Wilmington teammate, left-hander Luis Rico who, too, made his Double-A debut. The Venezuelan southpaw tossed the final 4.0 innings, allowed two runs on four hits with three strikeouts.

Northwest Arkansas recorded just four hits in the loss to Arkansas and are 2-5 on the current eight-game road trip. Alex Liddi and Kenny Diekroger added the other hits in the loss.

The Naturals turn to rehabbing right-hander Kris Medlen (0-0, 2.25) to get the Naturals a win on Wednesday in the final game of the road trip. Medlen makes his second rehab start for the Naturals. He will be countered by 28-year old right-hander Michael Brady (2-2, 2.16) who goes for the Travelers.
