
Mooseheads release five players from Training Camp

Halifax Mooseheads Head Coach / General Manager Cam Russell today announced the second round of cuts from the team's 2009 Training Camp roster.
Mooseheads released goaltender Stephane Dumaresque, defenseman Jonathan Pelletier and forwards Brett Bernard, Matt Myers and Maxime Nadeau. The moves leave 42 players in camp, five goaltenders, 16 defensemen and 21 forwards.
In another move, Mooseheads completed a trade with the Saint John Sea Dogs, acquiring 19-year-old centre Matthew Stoddard for a seventh round pick in the 2010 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Stoddard, a 2nd round pick of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in 2006, traded to Saint John Jan. 08, 2007, has played 128 games in the QMJHL, scoring six goals, 11 assists. He recorded a goal and assist in the Mooseheads' 6-5 shootout loss at P.E.I. Rocket Saturday.
