
Moose sign Centomo, release Pietrasiak

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have signed goaltender Sebastien Centomo to a professional tryout contract and released goaltender Jeff Pietrasiak.
Centomo, 25, joins the Moose from the Oklahoma City Blazers (CHL), where he has posted a record of 10-6-1, a goals against average of 2.95, and a save percentage of .904 in 19 games played so far this season. Last season, the Laval, PQ native played 12 regular-season games with the Moose. While with Manitoba, Centomo earned a record of 5-4-1, a goals against average of 2.64, and a save percentage of .898. In addition to his time spent with the Moose, Centomo played 83 career games with the St. John's Maple Leafs, for a total of 95 career AHL games. In the AHL, he has a record of 37-38-10, a goals against average of 3.06, and a save percentage of .904. Centomo has one NHL game under his belt, playing two periods with the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 6, 2002. In that game, he allowed three goals on 12 Detroit Red Wings shots.
Pietrasiak, 26, was signed to a pro-tryout contract by the Moose January 24, 2007 and suited up for a game that night vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, but did not play. Pietrasiak has appeared in 20 games with the Reading Royals (ECHL) so far this season, where he has posted a 10-9-1 record, a goals against average of 2.84, and a save percentage of .907. The Shrewsbury, MA native made his AHL debut with the Hershey Bears December 30th, 2006, stopping 41 of 45 shots to secure a 7-4 victory over the Norfolk Admirals. The game was Pietrasiak's only AHL game to date. In 55 career games with the University of New Hampshire Wildcats (NCAA), Pietrasiak has a record of 27-13-6, a goals against average of 2.19, and a save percentage of .921. He was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the sixth round, 186th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
