Moose Re-Assign Ellis to Victoria

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have re-assigned goaltender Julien Ellis from the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.

Ellis, 20, has appeared in six games with the Moose so far in his first season of professional hockey. He compiled a record of 0-6 with a goals against average of 3.71 and a save percentage of .885. He has also appeared in 20 games with the Salmon Kings where he is 10-10-0 with a 3.84 goals against average and a .900 save percentage and was named to the ECHL All-Star game prior to his recall to the Moose on Jan. 5/07.

In four seasons with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL, the Sorel, PQ native was 88-61-13 in 173 games with a goals against average of 2.85 and a .908 save percentage.

Ellis was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks with their sixth choice, 189th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
