Canucks Re-Assign Rypien to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have re-assigned forward Rick Rypien to Manitioba.

Rypien, 22, has played in 14 games this year with the Moose, scoring three goals and three assists for six points and 35 penalty minutes. The Coleman, AB native has missed time this season with a thumb injury suffered in Canucks' training camp. He was recalled by Vancouver on Dec. 1 before suffering a groin injury on Dec. 4 vs. Edmonton. In 2005-06, Rypien appeared in five games with the Canucks, where he scored his first NHL goal on his first NHL shift back on Dec. 21/05 vs. the Edmonton Oilers. In 71 career games with the Moose, Rypien has scored 13 goals and 10 assists for 23 points and 162 penalty minutes.
