Hockey Newcomer Night set for February 17

HOUSTON, Texas - The Houston Aeros announced today that their game at Toyota Center on Saturday, Feb. 17 is "Hockey Newcomer Night". Aeros' marketing efforts and plans for the game include intro to hockey videos and brochures, to help the casual or first-time fan understand the game.

The Aeros are anticipating their biggest crowd of the season for this game, against arch-rival Chicago. More than 3,000 Boys Scouts are expected to be in attendance, and the Aeros will wear special Boy Scout-themed jerseys. Tickets are going fast, so log on to Aeros.com today to order. USA Hockey's "Hockey Talk" introduction brochure will be available at the game, in addition to "Parents' Introduction to Youth Hockey." Several Hockey 101-type videos will be played during timeouts, including explanations of penalties. "Did You Know" facts about hockey will also be shown throughout the game. Hundreds of fans will receive free skating passes to Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center, Willowbrook Aerodrome or Space City Ice Station.

It's a true "Hockey Day in Houston", with a high school hockey game at Toyota Center from 2-4 p.m. This event is available to the public free of charge! Houston Aeros Charities is also holding its Spring Into Hockey auction on February 17.
