Cincinnati RailRaiders News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Ohio State product Ryan Kesler scored a power-play goal with 2:31 remaining in the third period to lift the Manitoba Moose to a 2-1 victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Saturday at Cincinnati Gardens.
Kesler, stationed in front of the Cincinnati net, deflected a shot from the right point by Kevin Biecksa past goaltender Frederic Cassivi to break a 1-1 tie.
Lee Goren scored a power-play goal late in the second period to tie the game for Manitoba after Pierre Parenteau had given the Ducks a lead with his first goal of the season on the power-play 7:20 into the period.
Wade Flaherty turned aside 36 shots in the win for the Moose, who completed a two-game series sweep over the Ducks and improved to 6-0-0-2 in their last eight. Flaherty, 36, raised his career record to 6-0-2 against Cincinnati.
Cassivi stopped 25 shots for Cincinnati, which lost its fifth straight game and fell two games below .500 for the first time this season (5-7-0-0).
The Ducks begin a two-game road trip Tuesday in Grand Rapids.
