Moon scores in Overtime to lift the Frontenacs over the Greyhounds

(Kingston, ON) The Frontenacs opened their first of three games over the Thanksgiving Day holiday long weekend with a gallant victory beating the Canadian Hockey League's top ranked Soo Greyhounds 4-3 in Overtime. Kyle Bochek and Kevin Mole are scratches from injuires which made room for Cole Weedmark to be called up from the Jr A Voyageurs with Jason Guy starting in the Kingston net.

The first goal of the game came at 14:23 of the second period as Sault Ste. Marie's Dustin Jeffrey (3) scored a Greyhounds powerplay goal assisted by Chris MacKinnon and Jacob Muzzin at 14:23. The Greyhounds took a two goal lead at 17:03 with Matthew Lyall (3) beating Jason Guy assisted by Josh Godfrey and Brandon MacLean. Frontenacs captain Cory Emmerton (3) opened the scoring on rookie goalie Bryce O'Hagan at 18:49 of the second period assisted by Nathan Moon.

Nathan Moon (2) scored a Frontenacs powerplay goal 17-seconds into the third period assisted by Cory Emmerton and Matthew Kang. The Soo's Brandon MacLean (3) scored unassisted to give the Greyhounds a one goal lead at 5:29. Kingston gets a big tying goal at 15:06 of the period with Nathan Moon winning a faceoff and Matt Kang (3) who rifled a high shot beating O'Hagan. Frontenacs head coach Bruce Cassidy called a time-out with 1:22 remaining in regulation time. After 60-minutes, shots on goal favoured the visiting Greyhounds 35 to 21 who had a commanding 12 shots on Jason Guy in the third period versus Kingston's 3. Heading into ovetime it was a 3-3 game.

Nathan Moon (3) scored the winning goal at 1:04 of Overtime, his second goal of the game and fourth point of the night.
