Montreal Recalls Andreas Engqvist from Hamilton

MONTREAL, QC - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that centre Andreas Engqvist has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs to Montreal. The Canadiens also announced that forward Dany Masse was reassigned from the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL to the `Dogs. The Bulldogs announced that defenceman David Urquhart has been recalled from Wheeling to Hamilton.

Engqvist, 23, has played in 38 games with the Bulldogs this season recording 14 points (six goals, eight assists) while serving 10 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4 centre played with Djurgarden of the Swedish Elite League from 2005-2006 to 2009-2010, recording 58 points (29 goals, 29 assists) and 74 penalty minutes in 181 games. The native of Stockholm, Sweden also amassed four points (one goal, three assists) in nine games in the 2010 World Hockey Championship in Germany. Enqvist was signed as a free agent by the Canadiens on July 13, 2009.

Masse, 22, has played in one game with the `Dogs this season earning two penalty minutes. In 29 games with Wheeling in 2010-2011, the 5-foot-10, 188-pound left wing has recorded nine points (one goal, eight assists) and 12 penalty minutes. In 25 games with the Bulldogs last season, the native of La Pocatiere, Quebec posted five points (three goals, two assists) and six penalty minutes. Masse was signed as a free agent by Montreal on April 15, 2009.

Urquhart, 26, played in 13 games with the Bulldogs this season recording one assist and four penalty minutes. The native of Thorold, Ontario has also appeared in 21 games with Wheeling this season registering nine points (one goal, eight assists) and 30 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 190-pound defenceman has played a total of 120 AHL games amassing 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) and 74 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs will travel to Connecticut to battle the Whale on Friday, January 21st at 7:00 p.m. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
