Crunch Announce Details of Syracuse Crunch Vs. Rochester Americans Facebook Faceoff Contest

Syracuse, NY (January 19, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today the details of the Syracuse Crunch vs. Rochester Americans Facebook Faceoff Contest.

The Syracuse Crunch have had a long-standing regional rivalry with the Rochester Americans on the ice, and now that rivalry will be put to the test off the ice, as the two clubs will battle it out for a good cause in the social media arena in the first-ever Facebook Faceoff Contest.

From now through 12 p.m. on February 19, whichever team's Facebook page gains more 'LIKES' will be declared the winner of the Facebook Faceoff Contest. The losing team will make a donation to the winning club's charitable foundation.

"The Facebook Faceoff Contest takes the excitement of our storied rivalry with Rochester off the ice and allows the Central New York community an opportunity to prove to Rochester what our organization already knows - that Crunch fans are the best in the American Hockey League," said Crunch Senior Vice President, Jim Sarosy.

In addition, for every 50 new 'LIKES' the Crunch receive, the club will pick one winner and award them a Crunch prize that can include an autographed photo, puck, merchandise, tickets and gift certificates.

Crunch fans can help by visiting www.facebook.com/syracusecrunch and clicking 'LIKE'. If fans already 'LIKE' the Crunch on facebook, they can help by using the 'SUGGEST TO FRIENDS' button on the upper left-hand corner of the page. Facebook fans will receive the latest breaking news on the Syracuse Crunch in a forum that allows them to interact with their favorite team, players and fellow Crunch fans. In addition, Crunch facebook fans will have the opportunity to receive special discounts on tickets, participate in exclusive contests and more.

The Crunch travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday, January 19 to face the Penguins before returning home to battle Rochester on Friday, January 21 at 7:30 p.m. at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena. Season and single-game tickets for the 2010-11 season are on sale and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444, or by stopping by the Crunch office at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena, located at 800 South State Street in downtown Syracuse.
