Monsters Weekly Storylines

The Monsters are banding together in the fight against cancer on Saturday at The Q with "The Purple Game" benefitting the American Cancer Society. Cleveland defenseman Cameron Gaunce and his family have been personally impacted by cancer and a profile of his personal ties to the fight against cancer would provide a real-world link to the Monsters' efforts to help raise awareness in the fight against this terrible disease.

With the 2017-18 regular season winding down, Monsters forward Nathan Gerbe, a veteran of nearly a decade in the NHL, recently inked a two-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract with the Blue Jackets and is expected to have a major impact in Cleveland and Columbus through the 2019-20 season. One of the Monsters' most important leaders on and off the ice this season since his mid-campaign arrival from the Swiss National League, a profile of Gerbe heading into the 2018-19 season would provide an early look at a contender to captain the Monsters next year.
