Tynan, Wolves Graze by Monsters in OT

CLEVELAND - Center T.J. Tynan netted the game-winning goal 1:05 into overtime to give the Chicago Wolves a 3-2 victory over the Cleveland Monsters on Tuesday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
Tynan's winner not only extended the Wolves' winning streak over the Monsters to six games, it pushed the team's road winning streak to a season-high six games. Forwards Stefan Matteau and Wade Megan accounted for the Wolves' regulation tallies.
Chicago (35-20-7-2) grabbed the 1-0 lead just 2:23 into the first frame. On the power play, Matteau zipped up the left wing to the bottom of the same-side circle for a shot that cleanly beat Matiss Kivlenieks (12-17-3).
Nine minutes into the second period - on the power play - the Monsters (21-33-6-3) evened the game, 1-1. The younger Broadhurst - Alex - jammed the puck past Oscar Dansk (8-1-2) after a net-front scramble.
Megan put the Wolves back on up top, 2-1, with 3:48 to play in the second session. Defenseman Chris Casto fed a pass to Megan on the right wing and he carried the puck down to the right faceoff dot, where he stopped but the Cleveland defenders kept going. He got off a quick shot that found twine.
However, just 1:13 into the third period, Broadhurst caught the Wolves on their heels. He walked into the slot and shoveled a shot behind Dansk for the 2-2 equalizer.
Just 1:05 into the 3-on-3 overtime, Tynan came out of the penalty box and whizzed into the Monsters zone. He got behind the defense, cut across the slot and poked the puck between Kivlenieks' pads for the 3-2 final score.
Dansk made 19 saves for the victory.
