
Condors Sign Oilers Draft Pick Safin to Try-Out

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors have signed winger Ostap Safin (OH-stahp, SA-fin) to an amateur try-out. He will wear number 32. Safin was drafted in the 4th round (#115 overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.
SAFIN - 19 years old, 6'5", 192 lbs., Shoots: left, Prague, Czech Republic
Led the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in scoring with 58 points (26g-23a) in 61 games
Represented the Czech Republic at the 2018 World Junior Championships and had three points (1g-2a) in seven games
Signed a three-year NHL Entry Level contract with Edmonton on March 6, 2018 which would begin with the 2018-19 season.
Won a Gold Medal at the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (U-18); the tournament will be called the Hlinka Gretzky Cup this upcoming summer and be held in Edmonton at Rogers Place.
