Richmond Flying Squirrels News Release
Richmond, VA-The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, have announced that Monday, July 19th, will now be RBI (Richmond Business Involvement) Kings Night presented by Lite 98 and Richmond Magazine. The night will focus on local business making an impact in the community.
Nominations will be set up online through Lite 98's website, www.lite98.com/pages/ConcertsEvents.html, and will require the name of the entrant, the name of the business nominated, and 100 words or less answering the question "How is this business making a positive impact in the community?"
Nominations for RBI Kings Night will be accepted from Thursday, July 1st through Friday, July 9th. All nominees will be invited to attend the game on July 19th.
Those business in attendance will be recognized during the pre-game festivities as part of a parade around the warning track. Following the parade, the overall winner will be announced and a representative will be selected to throw out the first pitch.
"The Flying Squirrels' mission is to support the community so we certainly want to recognize those businesses in the area that are already doing that," said Flying Squirrels' Vice President & COO Todd "Parney" Parnell. "It will be an honor to have the nominated business in attendance with us at The Diamond on the 19th."
The grand prize winner's package will include:
* Recognition at the July 19th game and a first pitch opportunity.
* 25 Diamond Club tickets and $125 Acorn Dollars to be used at a 2011 Flying Squirrels game (date TBD).
* Half-page ad in the August edition of Richmond Magazine recognizing the winner.
* Recognition as "Nut of the Week" on CBS 6 (to air on July 22nd).
* On-air recognition on Lite 98.
