ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look to snap a nine game losing skid (longest losing streak of the season) as they begin a four-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants) at The Diamond. Last night, the 'Wolves dropped their ninth straight game on a close call at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning that gave Bowie a 4-3 win and a series sweep. The Howlers are now a season-worst 17 games under .500 following last night's loss. Since overtaking first place on May 19 following a 9-4 win in Richmond, the SeaWolves have went 8-32 (.200 winning percentage)...The 'Wolves are happy to say goodbye to the month of June. Erie finished the month 5-22. During June, the club underwent 29 roster moves and the team hit .220 while the ERA was 4.87...Lefty Charlie Furbush takes the mound for the 'Wolves making his second Double-A start and second start against the Flying Squirrels. Furbush took a no-decision in his last outing against Richmond going seven innings, allowing three runs on eight hits with two walks and four strikeouts...Lefty Clayton Tanner takes the mound for Richmond. Tanner is making his 15th start and second against the SeaWolves. He took a no-decision against the 'Wolves in his last start. In the game, Tanner allowed three runs on five hits with two walks and a strikeout in 7.1 innings.
