
Monarchs Release Nolan And Wilson

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, released defenseman Doug Nolan from his professional tryout agreement and goaltender Dave Wilson from his amateur tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Nolan, 34, is a native of Quincy, Massachusetts and appeared in 19 games with the Monarchs this season recording three assists and 31 penalty minutes. He has played in a total of 260 games for the Monarchs from 2002-07 and 2009-10. Nolan ranks sixth on the Monarchs all-time penalty minute list with 450 and sixth on the all-time games played list with 260. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder recorded 29 points (5-2429) in six season in Manchester.
Wilson, 25, appeared in 13 games with the University of Maine Black Bears this season, collecting a 3-5-0 record with a 2.66 goals-against-average and a .888 save percentage. In four seasons with Maine, the 6-foot-1, 187-pound native of Caledon East, Ontario has an 8-19-1 record, a 3.02 goals-against-average and a .890 save percentage in 45 games throughout his college career. Wilson served as the backup goaltender to Monarchs netminder J.F. Berube for Friday's 4-1 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
The Monarchs host the Portland Pirates at the Verizon Wireless Arena in their final regular season home game on Friday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. The first 2,000 fans will receive a full color team photo, courtesy of WGAM.
