Moose Notes
39 DOWN, ONE TO GO: Tuesday night's game versus Hamilton is Manitoba's final road game of the 2009-10 regular season. The club's season doesn't conclude until April 10 however, with two home games left against the Peoria Rivermen. Last season, the Moose finished their regular season on the road for only the third time in franchise history. In their final game in Lake Erie, the Moose beat the Monsters 4-1 to cap off the 2008-09 campaign. In 13 previous IHL and AHL seasons, Manitoba is 6-7-0-0 their final road game of the season.
DEZY STREAKS: By scoring in Manitoba's 6-2 loss against the Hamilton Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon, Guillaume Desbiens extended his goal-scoring streak to two-consecutive games. He is now only three goals away from tying Marco Rosa for most goals on the current Moose squad with 22. After 64 games played, the Alma, Quebec native sits fourth on the team leaderboard with 34 points (19g & 15a) and 140 penalty minutes.
MAXWELL MAXIMIZES: Tough-guy Tommy Maxwell notched his second goal of the season in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Bulldogs. The last time Maxwell hit the back of the net was on November 3 against Norfolk (1-3L). In 64 games with the Moose this season, the Spokane, Washington native has collected 11 points (2g & 9a). He also leads his club in penalty minutes with 252 -- which is good enough for sixth overall in the league.
Upcoming Opponents
The Manitoba Moose will play their final road game of the regular season in Hamilton on Tuesday night against the Bulldogs. They will then host the Peoria Rivermen this upcoming Friday and Saturday to conclude the 2009-10 regular season at MTS Centre.
