Monarchs Ink Jakaitis To Tryout

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, signed goaltender Jeff Jakaitis to a professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Jakaitis, 25, joins the Monarchs after appearing in 24 games with the ECHL's Charlotte Checkers this season. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound native of Rochester, Minnesota, has a record of 12-9-2 with a 2.72 goals-against-average and a .913 save-percentage with the Checkers. Jakaitis began his professional career with the ECHL's Columbia Infernio during the 2007-08 season following four years at Lake Superior State University. With the Inferno, he had a 12-14-6 record, a 2.92 goals-against-average and a .909 save-percentage in 36 games. Jakaitis played in 116 games with Lake Superior State University and collected a 40-57-18 record, a 2.38 goals-against-average and a .925 save-percentage from 2004-07. He will wear No. 30 for the Monarchs.
