LOWELL, Mass. - The Lowell Devils found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard for the second straight game against the Springfield Falcons, as they fell, 3-1, on Monday afternoon at the Tsongas Arena. The loss ended a five-game home winning streak for the Devils.

Receiving ten power plays during the course of the match, the Falcons took advantage late in the first to go up, 1-0. Theo Peckham's wrist shot from the Devils' blueline tipped off of Ryan Stone in front and under Jeff Frazee at 17:15.

Springfield struck again to take a 2-0 lead with 3:17 remaining in the second period when Tyler Spurgeon snuck in a wraparound shot inside the far post.

The Falcons were then able to build a three-goal cushion skating on a two man-advantage early in the final frame. Rob Schremp walked over to the top of the zone and waited for a Colin McDonald screen before sending the puck into the top corner.

Jon DiSalvatore ruined Springfield's bid for a second consecutive shutout over Lowell when he scored on a shorthanded breakaway with 3:33 left in regulation.

Frazee stopped 32 out of 35 shots as the Devils losing streak stretched to three. Lowell was 0-for-3 on the power play and 8-for-10 on the penalty kill.

The Devils are back at home on Wednesday, January 21 to face the Portland Pirates at 7:00p.m. Listen to game live on ahllive.com. For more information about individual tickets and group packages for Devils homes games, call (978) 458-PUCK (7825) or log on to www.lowelldevilshockey.com.
