Manchester Monarchs News Release
DOWN TO THE LAST GAME
Heading into the final game of the season, the Monarchs have two points at stake that will determine their seeding in the North Division for the playoffs. Manchester sits third in the division with 86 points, trailing the Reading Royals (87) for second place and the Adirondack Thunder (87) for first place. Reading has played all 72 games in their season, while the Thunder control their own destiny, playing against the Brampton Beast at 2 p.m. today. If the playoffs were to start this morning, the Monarchs would play against the Reading Royals in the first round.
THE TRAIN CAN'T BE STOPPED
The Railers are one of the hottest teams in the league right now, winning six games in a row, and 11 of their last 13 games. Since Mar. 11, Worcester has lost only one game in regulation. Through those 13 games, Worcester has allowed more than two goals just once.
RIGHT THE SHIP ON THE ROAD
The Monarchs will look to halt their losing streak at six-games in the final game of the regular season before playoffs. Manchester has played well on the road this season, posting a record of 20-11-2-2, for the best road record in the North Division. Their road power play continues to pace the league, scoring on 22.2% of their chances.
