PLAYOFF PICTURE

The Monarchs (67 pts.) begin their three-game weekend series atop the North Division by two points over the Reading Royals (65 pts.), and just three points ahead of the surprising Brampton Beast in a congested North Division. By virtue of having more wins, the Beast currently hold the third seed in the North, with the Adirondack Thunder (64) holding the last playoff spot in the division.

DOMINATING THE DIVISION

Brampton enters the weekend with the best winning percentage against other members of the North Division at .750, with a record of 15-5-0-0. Reading is second on that list with a .620 winning percentage (18-9-1-1), while Manchester sits third with a 17-8-2-1 record and a .607 winning percentage.

NORTH DIVISION RACE

The North Division is shaping up to be the tightest playoff race in the league, with four teams within three points of first place. Only Mountain Division leader, the Colorado Eagles (76), have a team within three points of their lead in the Allen Americans.

FIRST MEETING OF THE SEASON

Brampton and Manchester face-off for the first time this season Friday night. The two teams split the season series last year with three wins each, trading wins throughout the season. The two teams will meet twice more later in the year, when the Monarchs close the regular season in Brampton on April 7 and 8. Tonight's meeting comes at a good time for Brampton, who are 8-1-1-0 in their past 10 games, while the Monarchs are 3-4-2-1 in their last 10 games, including 0-3-1-0 in their last four games.

HOME ICE IS NICE

Manchester will look to add to the league's season best 15-game home-point streak this weekend with three games at SNHU Arena. Manchester hasn't lost a home game in regulation in almost three months, dating back to a 4-1 loss to the Everblades on Nov. 25. Manchester has not fared well on the road recently, going winless in their last eight games while away from SNHU Arena.

DAVIDS ARE GOLIATHS

Brampton is led by their top two forwards, David Vallorani and David Pacan, who have combined for 115 points this season, 23% of the team's total points. Vallorani leads the team with 60 points (24g, 36a) and places 8th in the league in scoring, while Pacan is second on the team with 55 points (29g, 26a) tied for 4th in the league in goals. Manchester's leading scorer, Matt Leitner, has 42 points on the season and is tied with multiple players for 44th in the league in scoring.
