Monarchs Announce March Investing In Our Youth Winners

MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, will donate $1,000 scholarships to Nashua Little League and to the St. Joseph Regional Junior High as part of their Investing In Our Youth grant program, the team announced on Wednesday. Thanks to the Investing In Our Youth grant program, the Monarchs are able to award two $1,000 scholarships every month. One of the scholarships goes to a deserving youth sports teams. The other scholarship goes to a deserving school organization.

Nashua Little league serves about 350 boys and girls, ages 7-12. The organization plans to use its grant money to purchase a Jugs Jr. pitching machine. The pitching machine will help players work on mechanics under consistent pitching conditions.

St. Joseph Regional Junior High is a Catholic school located in the heart of Manchester. It educates approximately 300 seventh and eighth grade students from 25 communities. The school will use its grant money to purchase new books for the library.

The Monarchs return to action when they travel to Hartford to face the Wolf Pack at the Hartford Civic Center at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13. After that, they'll host the Lowell Lock Monsters in the last 2004-05 regular season home game at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday, April 15 at 7:35 p.m. Single seats in the Gold and Silver levels of the Verizon Wireless Arena remain for Friday's game against the Lock Monsters.
