Modern Woodmen Park Will Host Father's Day Barbeque

DAVENPORT, Iowa (MAY 30, 2012) - The Quad Cities River Bandits will host their first-ever Father's Day Barbeque on Sunday, June 17. Individuals and families can now reserve tickets for a special barbeque buffet on the Modern Woodmen Park Sky Deck as the River Bandits host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

The pre-game barbeque buffet will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Modern Woodmen Park Sky Deck and is part of a full day of Father's Day activities, including a silent auction that features autographed items and a package of four tickets to the St. Louis Cardinals game on the fourth of July. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Genesis and their fight against prostate cancer.

"This great package will be a fun and affordable way for families in the Quad Cities to spend a special day at Modern Woodmen Park," said River Bandits owner Dave Heller. "A barbeque and baseball game will make for a memorable Father's Day celebration for the whole community."

The all-you-can-eat barbeque and admission to the River Bandits' 5 p.m. game are included with the ticket. Each ticket is $25 and must be purchased in advance. The barbeque menu includes hot dogs, pulled pork, barbeque chicken, baked beans, corn, potato salad, cole slaw, cookies, ice cream sandwiches, soda, water and lemonade, as well as a cash bar.

The Modern Woodmen Park Sky Deck was completed last season and is a climate-controlled environment that features large glass windows and offers a beautiful view of the Mississippi River to the south and downtown Davenport to the north.

As part of a U.S. Bank Family Sunday presented by KWQC and B100, kids can get pregame player autographs, and after the game Kids Run the Bases presented by Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services and West Bend Mutual Insurance Company. There will also be postgame catch in the outfield for fathers and their children.

"The River Bandits look forward to making this Father's Day special for the whole family," said General Manager Stefanie Brown. "Modern Woodmen Park is a one-of-a-kind setting for celebrations throughout the year, and the Father's Day Barbeque will be another unique and memorable occasion."
