Mitchell Vande Sompel and Michael Dal Colle Named to Team OHL

Oshawa, ON - The Canadian Hockey League in association with the Ontario Hockey League, the Peterborough Petes, and the Kingston Frontenacs hockey clubs today announced the Team OHL rosters for the 2014 SUBWAY © Super Series. The Oshawa Generals are pleased to announce that Mitchell Vande Sompel and Michael Dale Colle have been named to the Team OHL Subway © Super Series roster.

Team OHL will compete against the Russian National Junior Team in Game 3 of the series in Peterborough on Thursday, Nov. 13 with Game 4 to be played in Kingston on Monday, Nov. 17. The series also includes two games in the WHL prior to both OHL games, and ends with the two games hosted by the QMJHL.

Mitchell Vande Sompel, a 5'10" defender is in his sophomore season with the Oshawa Generals and has scored 11 points (1 goal, 10 assists) in 11 games played this season, with a plus-9. Michael Dal Colle, a 6'2" left-winger is playing his third season with the Oshawa Generals and has scored 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists) in seven games played, with a plus-4. Dal Colle will play in the Subway Super Series on Thursday, Nov. 13 in Peterborough and Monday, Nov. 17 in Kingston. Vande Sompel will only play in Kingston on Monday, Nov. 17.

Oshawa Generals General Manager, Roger Hunt says, "It's great to see the professionalism and hard work that both of these players put into our league being rewarded by having the opportunity to represent our league against Russia. Both players are great representatives of the Oshawa Generals."

In 11 years of competition against the Russian National Junior Team, the OHL has a record of 19-2-1 in this series following a 5-2 loss in Oshawa and a 3-2 shootout loss in Sudbury last season.
