OHL Announces Disciplinary Action

October 21, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) News Release


Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of three (3) separate discipline reviews of incidents which took place in games this past weekend.

Game of Friday, October 17th, 2014 - Sudbury at Erie

The Ontario Hockey League today announced the result of a review of an incident which took place in a game played in Erie on the 17th of October, 2014, involving the Otters and the visiting Sudbury Wolves Hockey Club.

The incident reviewed was a checking from behind infraction involving player Cory Genovese of the Erie Otters Hockey Club.

Based on such review, it is the position of the League that player Cory Genovese shall be suspended for four (4) games.

Game of Friday, October 17th, 2014 - Plymouth at Kingston

The Ontario Hockey League today announced the result of a review of an incident which took place in a game played in Kingston on the 17th of October, 2014, involving the Frontenacs and the visiting Plymouth Whalers Hockey Club.

The incident reviewed was a checking to the head infraction involving player Mitch Jones of the Plymouth Whalers Hockey Club.

Based on such review, it is the position of the League that player Mitch Jones shall be suspended for eight (8) games.

Game of Sunday, October 19th, 2014 - Plymouth at Ottawa

The Ontario Hockey League today announced the result of a review of an incident which took place in a game played in Ottawa on the 19th of October, 2014, involving the 67's and the visiting Plymouth Whalers Hockey Club.

The incident reviewed was a checking to the head infraction involving player Gianluca Curcuruto of the Plymouth Whalers Hockey Club.

Based on such review, it is the position of the League that player Gianluca Curcuruto shall be suspended for twelve (12) games effective immediately.
