WINSTON-SALEM, NC (MAY 31, 2011) - Jared Mitchell's walk-off, two-run double completed a three-run ninth and the Dash stunned the Nationals with a 4-3 win on Tuesday night at BB&T Ballpark. Winston-Salem trailed 3-0 heading into the eighth inning, before notching four runs in the last two innings to take game two of the series.

The first four innings of the game featured a pitcher's duel between Joe Serafin and Garrett Mock. Potomac (18-33) managed two hits in the first inning, but both runners were picked off of first base and the P-Nats didn't get another base runner past first until the fifth. Winston-Salem (23-28) put runners in scoring position in three of the first four frames, but could not score.

In the fifth inning, Potomac was able to get on the board. Jose Lozada walked with one out and Cutter Dykstra followed with a single into left-center field. Nick Ciolli fielded the ball in the gap, but fell shortly thereafter, giving Lozada leeway to score from first.

The Nationals started a rally in the sixth inning after Serafin walked Jeff Kobernus and Destin Hood to begin the frame. With Justin Bloxom at the plate, the P-Nats executed a successful double steal, putting runners at second and third. Bloxom then hit a sacrifice fly to score Kobernus and Steven Souza singled in Hood to put Potomac up 3-0.

Winston prevented the shutout in the eighth inning against reliever Rafael Martin. Jared Mitchell was issued a walk with one out, and moved to second when Jose Martinez reached on an error. With runners at the corners Ian Gac struck out, but the third strike was a wild pitch, allowing Mitchell to score. Martin set down Andy Wilkins on a deep fly ball to left field to end the inning.

The Dash mounted a comeback attempt in the ninth inning. Jason Bour continued his perfect series at the plate with a single to left field. Kyle Colligan pinch ran for Bour and scored when Austin Yount doubled down the right field line. Daniel Wagner then grounded out, signaling the end of the night for relief pitcher Hector Nelo. With the tying run at second base, Marcos Frias came in to close the game and walked Tyler Saladino. Mitchell then cracked a double to right-center field, past a diving J.R. Higley and scoring Yount and Saladino to win the game.

In his rehab start, Mock threw six scoreless innings and gave up five hits. He struck out six, but did not get a decision. Leroy Hunt got the win in relief after a scoreless ninth. Frias was hit with the loss after he didn't retire a batter with two outs in the ninth.
