Mississippi Shoots Down Texas for Second Straight Win

(Southaven, MS) - Bobby Chaumont scored the only goal in the shootout and goaltender Kevin Beech stopped all five Texas shooters in the Mississippi RiverKings 4-3 Central Hockey League victory over the Texas Brahmas Saturday night, December 13th, at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven.

Chaumont also scored his 14th goal of the season at 18:41 of the first period for a 2-1 lead. Garrett Larson and Brad Bonello were the other goal scorers for the RiverKings, while Tyler Skworchinski, Jordan Cameron, and Pete Rouleau netted goals for the Brahmas. Rouleau's goal on the power play tied the game five minutes into the third period.

Beech stopped 22 shots on goal in regulation time and overtime in picking up his 12th victory of the season (12-6-0) for Mississippi. Brahmas' goalie Brett Jaeger made 35 saves in taking the shootout loss (9-3-3).

With the win, Mississippi moves to 14-9-0 for the season, while Texas falls to 13-7-3. The RiverKings have won two straight games and four straight at home. Mississippi will play Friday at Wichita and Saturday at Amarillo before coming home to play Wichita at home on December 23rd.
