
Mississippi Makes Three Roster Moves

BILOXI, Miss. â Bob Woods, general manager and coach of the Mississippi Sea Wolves announced today that the team has signed free agent center Russ Guzior (GOO-zee-uhr), while left wing Andy Johnson and center Tristan Lush have been waived.
Guzior, 30, appeared in five games earlier this season with the Quad City Mallards of the United Hockey League tallying one goal and one assist. The 5-foot-10 and 190-pound Guzior is a veteran in his eighth season of professional hockey. In 2003-04 in the Central Hockey League, Guzior scored 10 points (2g-8a) in 16 games with Indianapolis and 16 points (5g-11a) in 20 games with Lubbock. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Guzior was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the 11th round, 281st overall, in 1993.
Johnson, 26, played in three games with Mississippi this season accumulating two penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4 and 220-pound Johnson missed five games after being placed on the 7-day injured reserve on October 20. A native of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Johnson is in his second professional season after last playing pro hockey in 1998-99 with Greenville of the ECHL and Asheville of the United Hockey League. Johnson was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fifth round, 130th overall, in 1996.
Lush, 23, played in six games with the Sea Wolves this season posting four penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1 and 210-pound native of North Andover, Massachusetts is in his rookie season of pro hockey.
The Sea Wolves get back into action with a home-and-home series against the Louisiana IceGators starting at 7:05 p.m. on Friday at the Cajundome in Lafayette.
Mississippi's next home game is at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday versus Louisiana at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The game promotion consists of $2 hotdogs and $2 drafts from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
