Dayton, OH – Four members of the new Dayton Bombers Hockey Team were participants in National Young Readers Day at the Pathway School of Discovery in Dayton today.

Bombers players ANDREW PENNER, TYLER KOLARIK, MIKE AYERS and CLAY PLUME spoke to an assembly of over 525 pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade students in the gymnasium at Pathway. The players talked about the importance of reading and education, and then read fourteen winning poetry entries from the students.

"Giving back to the community is not an obligation, it's a privilege", said Bombers Director of Communication DAVID MILLER. "The players have just as much fun as the students in most cases, and this was really a great event."

After the 90-minute event, Kolarik said, "These kids worked hard and it's fun to give them something like this to enjoy. It's a fun event for everyone involved." Tyler Kolarik is a rookie from Harvard University.

The Dayton Bombers open a five game road trip in Trenton, New Jersey this Friday night. All games can be heard live at daytonbombers.com, with audio streaming provided by Teamline. The next home game is scheduled for Saturday, November 11th against Johnstown at 7:00 PM.
