Columbia Fireflies News Release
COLUMBIA, SC - David Miranda became the third player in Fireflies history to produce a five-hit game. Miranda's fifth hit was an RBI single, which broke a 7-7 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning. Columbia outlasted Delmarva 8-7 in the series finale at Spirit Communications Park.
Miranda joins Enmanuel Zabala (August 22, 2016: 5-for-5) and Dan Rizzie (July 19, 2017: 5-for-6) as the only three players to deliver a five-hit performance in team history. The 23-year-old also holds a .545 batting average through his first six games with Columbia.
