ABOUT LAST GAME: The Fireflies won in walk-off fashion, 2-1, over the Shorebirds on Sunday at Spirit Communications Park. Zach Rheams delivered the game-winning single in the 10th inning - his third hit of the game. Nicolas Debora shined on the mound for Columbia. The righty struck out a career-high 10 batters over seven frames in just his fourth start of the season (18th appearance).
THREE THRILLERS: Sunday's game featured Columbia's seventh walk-off victory of the season. Three of these have come against Delmarva.
- May 13: Down 4-3 in the 10th, Jay Jabs dropped a bunt down the third-base line and two runs scored on a throwing error from third baseman Trevor Craport.
- May 15: Down 8-6 in the 10th, the Fireflies scored three runs in the bottom of the frame. Scott Manea was hit by pitch with the bases loaded and Hansel Moreno scored the game-winning run.
- August 12: *see above*
MIRANDA MADE TOUGH: David Miranda was added to Columbia's roster on August 5 and is off to a great start with the club. Miranda holds a .412 batting average (7-for-17) in his first five games (all at home).
RELIEF WINS: Connor O'Neil tossed three scoreless innings out of the bullpen in Sunday's win. The 23-year-old earned the victory and became the first reliever in Fireflies history to win six games. O'Neil surpassed Johnny Magliozzi who won five games as a reliever in 2016.
STREAKIN': Matt Winaker extended his on-base streak to 23 straight games with a pair of walks on Sunday. The 22-year-old has hit .284 since July 19 (when the streak began) with 13 extra-base hits and 12 RBI.
STREAKIN' Pt. II: Winaker joins a lengthy list of Fireflies who have posted on-base streaks of 15 games or longer this season:
