
Legends Complete Sweep of Intimidators in 3-1 Victory

WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - The Lexington Legends hold on to the top spot in the Southern Division with a four-game sweep of the Kannapolis Intimidators in a 3-1 victory in the final game. The Legends are now 27-20 in the second half of the series
The Legends plated their first run in the bottom of the first inning. Kyle Isbel blasted a leadoff home run to right field and Lexington jumped out to a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the second, Sebastian Rivero lined a double down the left field line then moved to third on an infield single by Cal Jones. Isbel hit an RBI single down the right field line scoring Rivero. Cristian Perez then hit a groundball to the pitcher, Parker Rigler, who committed a fielding error allowing Jones to score. Lexington led 3-0 after the second inning.
Kannapolis scored their lone run of the game in the top of the eighth inning. Ramon Beltre reached first on a wild pitch strikeout then scored on an RBI single by Tyler Frost. The Legends were able to then hold on to the 3-1 victory.
Isbel finished a triple shy of the cycle going 3-4 at the plate with two RBI, one run scored and one walk.
Yefri Del Rosario was awarded the victory tossing 6.0 shutout innings allowing just two hits while walking one and striking out five. Rigler was given the loss pitching 6.0 innings allowing three runs (two earned) on nine hits while striking out five. Tad Ratliff was given the save after striking out the side in the ninth.
The Legends have a scheduled off day tomorrow, August 14 before traveling to face the Hagerstown Suns for a three-game series. Both pitchers are TBD.
