Augusta GreenJackets News Release
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, take the series finale against the Greenville Drive (Boston Red Sox), 3-0, to even out the series 2-2.
The GreenJackets managed to put runners on the bases in the first six innings but unable to plate any runs. The GreenJackets were backed by excellent pitching from Jose Marte as he pitched himself out of a few jams early in the game. In the bottom of the 7th Logan Baldwin led off with a double down the right field line. Next up would be catcher, Jeffry Parra, who placed down a perfectly placed bunt to move Baldwin to third. Shane Matheny then doubled to score Baldwin to put up the first run of the game. The GreenJackets would eventually add two more runs with Heliot Ramos' triple off the center field wall.
The GreenJackets would use four pitchers to shut out the Drive with Russell earning the win, and Doval getting his 7th save. Player of the game goes out to Logan Baldwin for going 2-4 on the night and scoring the winning run.
