MINTY DEBUT: Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten scored in his first game as a Saskatoon Blade on Saturday in their 5-4 overtime loss to the Portland Winterhawks at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The 6-foot-2 forward was acquired by the Blades in a blockbuster trade Friday with the Kamloops Blazers, coming to the Bridge City with three goals and ten points in seven games. Minten found chemistry with fellow Leafs draft pick Brandon Lisowsky, making an immediate impact with his new club. In 152 career WHL games, the Vancouver, BC product has 151 points (59G, 92A) including tonight's game-tying goal in the second.

Lisowsky scored the Blades first goal of the game, giving him 15 goals and 28 points in 25 games this season. Forward Easton Armstrong finished the night with a pair of powerplay goals and now owns 20 points (13G, 7A) in 21 games this season.

It wasn't the best night for Blades goalie Austin Elliott who stopped 35 shots, dropping his record to 11-4-1-0.

The Blades are now 1-2-1-0 on their U.S. Division road trip and remain first in the Eastern Conference with a 16-8-1-0 record.

NEXT GAME: The Blades head back up through Washington State for the back half of their season-long seven-game road trip, starting in Tri-City on Tuesday at the Toyota Center against the Americans. The Blades finish their U.S. leg of the triup the following night against the Spokane Chiefs, before playing their final road game in Lethbridge against the Hurricanes on Friday.

Puck drop for Tuesday's contest is 9:00pm CT.
