Basha's Five Point Night Leads to Tigers' 6-1 Win Over Wheat Kings

Medicine Hat, AB - For the second time in his career, Medicine Hat Tigers forward Andrew Basha (Calgary, AB) would score four goals at Co-op Place. Leading the Tigers to their 6-1 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings Saturday night.

In the first period the Tigers would use their power play to their full advantage as they'd turn things up with a pair of Basha goals. First at 6:33 as he would get his 8th in the campaign from Cayden Lindstrom (Chetwynd, AB) & Hayden Harsanyi (Calgary, AB). Then at 10:24 Basha would just sneak a shot through Wheat Kings starter Carson Bjarnason to push the Tiger lead to 2-0. Gavin McKenna (Whitehorse, YT) & Oasiz Wiesblatt (Calgary, AB) would get on the scoresheet.

Brandon would get into things late in the opening period, on another Tiger power play, Nate Danielson would snap a shot past Zach Zahara (Rockyview County, AB) at 18:25 cutting into the Medicine Hat lead to make it 2-1 heading to the 1st Intermission.

In the 2nd, the Tigers would add in to their lead as Rhett Parsons (Cremona, AB) would take a long shot from the point through traffic beating Bjarnason for his 2nd of the season to make it 3-1 at 3:08. Dru Krebs (Okotoks, AB) & Andrew Basha would add his third point of the night.

It wouldn't be long till on another power play for the Tigers and as he's falling on the way to the Wheat King net, Dru Krebs would chip his 1st of the season at 5:06 as Shane Smith (Cessford, AB) & Gavin McKenna would score his second assist of the night.

The Tigers weren't done yet as at even strength Andrew Basha would have his hat-trick goal at 12:50 would make it 5-1 on the tenth of the season for the third year Tiger. Bogdans Hodass (Jelgava, LAT) & Tyler MacKenzie (Red Deer, AB) would be credited with assists on the fifth Medicine Hat goal.

Into the third period the Tigers would add their final mark as a breakaway for Basha beating goaltender Ethan Eskit for his 4th and 11th of season, sealing the win for the second time against the Wheat Kings. Improving to 7-2-2 at home.

The Tiger power play would finish 3/5 on the night while it was the second consecutive clean sheet for the Orange and Black going 3/3.

With the win the Tigers move to 16-6-2 on the season and will make their way to Swift Current on Wednesday night.
