Minnesota Wild Reassigns Defenseman Maxim Noreau to Houston

HOUSTON - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned defenseman Maxim Noreau (max-EEM NOHR-oh) to the Houston Aeros.

Noreau, 22 (5/24/87), was recalled from Houston on Thursday and made his NHL debut last night in Calgary, taking 10 shifts in 7:01 TOI. He became the eighth Wild player this season to make his NHL debut. Noreau has collected 51 points (18-33=51) including five power-play goals and 58 penalty minutes (PIM) in 74 games with Houston this season. At the time of his recall, Noreau ranked tied for first on the Aeros and tied for fourth amongst AHL defensemen in scoring. His 18 goals ranks tied for first amongst AHL defensemen. Noreau recorded 39 points (14-25=39) in 77 games with Houston in 2008-09. He was signed as a free agent by Minnesota on May 22, 2008.

The Aeros host Lone Star rival Texas Saturday in their final home game of the 2009-10 season.
