Minnesota United Acquires Forward Cameron Dunbar

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Minnesota United announced today that the club has acquired forward Cameron Dunbar as a Homegrown Player via trade from the LA Galaxy in exchange for a third round pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft and $75,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) if performance-based incentives are met. Additionally, Minnesota will pay the Galaxy 20% of the transfer fee if Dunbar is sold outside of MLS.

Dunbar joins the Loons from the LA Galaxy, having most recently played the majority of his matches with LA Galaxy II, the USL Championship side that will compete in MLS NEXT Pro beginning in 2023. A product of the LA Galaxy Academy, the forward signed with the LA Galaxy as a Homegrown Player in February of 2020 and made his MLS debut for the California club against the Portland Timbers in the MLS is Back Tournament. Dunbar made 18 regular-season appearances for the Galaxy first team, three starts, during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. For LA Galaxy II, he made 33 appearances between 2020 and 2022, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists. Internationally, he has represented the United States at the Under-17 level, making one appearance in 2018.
