Miller activated, Chiaravalloti and Schneider head to DL

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release


Manchester, NH- Outfielder Tony Miller was activated from the disabled list today. First baseman Vito Chiaravalloti was placed on the disabled list to make room for Miller. Also, catcher John Schneider was placed on the disabled list to make room for catcher Erik Kratz, who was added to the Fisher Cats roster earlier today from Triple-A Syracuse.

The 25-year-old Miller has been on the disabled list with a wrist injury since June 5. He was hitting .333 with five RBI and 12 walks in nine games with the Fisher Cats before the injury. He was acquired mid-season by the Blue Jays organization from the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies originally selected him in the 10th round of the 2001 draft out of Toledo.

The 25-year-old Chiaravalloti was hitting .188 with six homers and 18 RBI in 39 games for New Hampshire this season. He was originally selected by Toronto in the 15th round of the 2003 draft out of Richmond.

The 26-year-old Schneider was just added to the Fisher Cats roster a few days ago from Single-A Dunedin. He has played multiple games at three different levels this season as a backup catcher. He was originally selected by the Blue Jays in the 13th round of the 2002 draft out of the University of Delaware.

The Fisher Cats are in Binghamton, NY tonight to begin a four game series with the Binghamton Mets. They return home to begin a seven day homestand on Tuesday, July 4 at 6:35 PM against the New Britain Rock Cats (Twins). For tickets or information, call (603) 641-2005 or visit nhfishercats.com.
