FRANKLIN, Wis. - The Milwaukee Milkmen defeated the Sioux City Explorers Sunday afternoon on a chilly day at Franklin Field.

Final Score: Milwaukee Milkmen 4, Sioux City Explorers 1.

Starting pitcher Kyle Mora used the cold to his advantage to have another great performance on the mound, going six inning and handing out five strikeouts, while only giving up one run on seven hits.

"With weather like this it was attack mode," Mora said of his performance. "If guys wanted to lift it up and hit homers it wasn't going to happen so we went after them."

Milwaukee's offense also struggled in the cold but it did not stop them from scoring four runs on the day. In the fourth Cam Balego scored on a single from Gabriel Cancel who then scored on a sacrifice-fly from Cam Redding. Then in the seventh the Milkmen scored two more when Redding scored on an error by the Sioux City pitcher and Aaron Hill came home on a hit from Bryan Torres.

Peyton Gray, Aneuris Rosario, and Nate Hadley then all pitched one inning of relief combining to give up one hit and no runs as the Milkmen closed the game and series 4-1.

Milwaukee will now take a day off and head to Cleburne to take on the Railroaders in a six game series. The Milkmen will then come back to Franklin Field on the 20th to start a series against the Sioux Falls Canaries. We hope to see you soon!

Tickets are on sale atMilwaukeeMilkmen.comor at the Franklin Field Box Office prior to the game.
