Rome Emperors News Release
Rome, GA - Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Hampton is scheduled to start the game Monday at State Mutual Stadium as part of a major league rehab assignment. Hampton was placed on the disabled list on April 3rd with a strained left pectoral muscle. He missed the entire 2006 and 2007 seasons after Tommy John surgery as well as surgery on a torn flexor tendon in his left elbow was performed. In April of this year, Hampton left a rehab start in Richmond after throwing 71 pitches citing discomfort in his left pectoral muscle. It was however an encouraging outing to that point.
Rome continues their road trip tonight in Savannah before returning home Monday to face Columbus. The Salute to America Night and post game fireworks show will take place Tuesday July 1st with first pitch at 7pm. For ticket information call 706-378-5144 or log on to www.romebraves.com .
