Midfielder Andres Romero Returns with Impact

MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Monday that midfielder Andres Romero will be returning to the Impact for the 2014 season. The Argentine has once again been loaned to the Impact by Brazilian club Tombense FC. The deal will be confirmed upon receipt of his international transfer certificate (ITC). As per MLS policy, details of the deal were not disclosed.

In 2013, Romero scored two goals and added two assists in 30 regular season games, including 20 starts, for 1,672 minutes played. He was selected once the Videotron Player of the Game, following his game-winning goal against the Chicago Fire. He also helped the team win the Canadian Championship, scoring once in four games, three as a starter. In addition, he played two CONCACAF Champions League games.

Prior to joining the Impact, he played in the Brazilian first and second divisions, as well as in the Argentine first division with Argentinos Junior.

At the international level, he played five games with the Argentine U20 national team, including two starts during the Sudamericano U20 championships in 2009.
