FRISCO, Texas (Monday, Feb. 10, 2014) - FC Dallas Academy coach Josema Bazan has been promoted to an assistant coaching position with the FC Dallas first team, the club announced today.

"In the same way that we look for talented players in our academy to sign Homegrown contracts with the first team, we want to promote our most talented coaches from within our system," said FC Dallas Technical Director Fernando Clavijo. "We are very excited to have Josema join the first team. I believe he has a lot to offer as a coach at the professional level."

Bazan originally joined FC Dallas as an academy coach for the U-16 and U-18 teams on April 28, 2011, where he worked closely with current FC Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja.

A U.S. Soccer Federation "B" Licensed Coach, Bazan is a certified trainer that holds both a Director of Coaching Diploma and an Argentinean Youth National Soccer Diploma. For the last four years, he has served as an assistant coach for the U-17, U-20 and full Venezuelan National Teams.

As a player, Bazan played in the U-20 World Cup for Argentina in 1991. He also played professionally in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Brazil from 1986 to 1996. Bazan ended his playing career in Dallas with the DFW Tornados of the then United Soccer Leagues' D3 Pro League.
