Evansville Otters News Release

EVANSVILLE, IN – After dropping the completion of a suspended game in the first outing of the evening 6-4, the Evansville Otters won game two of the night 4-3, splitting a doubleheader with the Chillicothe Paints.

In game one, the Otters started the game down 3-0 after two innings, before coming back to take a 4-3 lead. The advantage would not hold, however, as Chillicothe scored three in the top of the sixth for the eventual 6-4 final.

In the nightcap, the Otters staked Heath Heiberger to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a two-run triple by Terrence McClain and a single by Carlos Brackley. Evansville would score another run in the second to make it 4-0.

The Paints would make it close in the fourth on a three-run homer by Mark Hamilton, but Heiberger shut the door after that, picking up his third win of the season going six, allowing two earned runs, walking a season low one.

The Otters and Paints play another doubleheader tomorrow with Scott Barber and Bryan Simmering taking the hill for Evansville. John Martinez and Jeremy Durkee go for Chillicothe.
